University of Birmingham Celebrates 125th Anniversary with Scholarships
As the University of Birmingham celebrates 125 years of University status by Royal Charter, they are marking this milestone by investing in the future of global education through their prestigious 125th Anniversary Scholarships, offering £4,000 to international students who pursue their Masters degree at the University of Birmingham in September 2025. There are also awards of up to £5,000 for students domiciled in India.
University Launches £5K Cost of Living Allowance for UK Undergraduates
The University, located in the heart of the thriving city centre of Birmingham, is incredibly proud of the breadth and diversity of its student body, with a significant number of students joining from socio-economic groups that experience the highest rates of deprivation and are often underrepresented in the broader higher education sector.
Recognising the financial pressures students are increasingly experiencing, the new scheme underscores the University’s commitment to social inclusion and supporting students’ wellbeing and academic success.
This initiative is a timely one, given the recent news that home UK undergraduate tuition fees will rise to £9,535 from September 2025.
£6.75M Funding Boost for West Midlands Creative Sector
The West Midlands is one of just two areas of the UK to get government funding to boost economic growth and job opportunities in the creative sector.
The University of Birmingham, Birmingham City University (BCU), Coventry University, and the University of Warwick will collaborate with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and industry partners to boost skills and develop new products, technology, and multi-platform content.
Backed by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), The CreaTech Frontiers will invest £6.75 million to develop small, micro- and medium-sized businesses specialising in creative tech like video games and immersive reality.
