Huge Flood Causes Chaos in Selly Oak

Students returned to floating bins, stranded course mates, and soggy Crocs. Heavy rain across Selly Oak caused road closures and traffic chaos at the start of term. These downpours feel like they are becoming an annual occurrence.

Flooding due to torrential rain hit the city shortly before rush hour in late September, leading to several roads being closed, buses being diverted and rail services being stopped.

Hundreds of People Queue at Birmingham Bullring for New Store

'Hundreds, if not thousands' of people queued at the Bullring on October 11 to be among the first through the doors of a new shop in the centre. Hopeful visitors to the city waited outside the Bullring to check out Pureseoul, a Korean beauty store that launched its first Birmingham shop at 11 am.

The K-beauty destination said it would give 200 goodie bags worth £300 to the first people to spend £30 in-store. It attracted shoppers from in and out of the city who brought camping chairs to claim their spot in the line.
