UCU Marking Boycott to Affect University of Birmingham Students
After months of industrial action affecting students, the Universities and College Union (UCU) has now announced that they are calling for all staff to partake in a marking boycott.
This marking boycott is expected to last a whole six months with 145 universities agreeing to join unless agreements can be made.
With the deadline for exam season just a few weeks away, the university also stated that all exams and due dates will still be going ahead and work will still need to be completed.

University Campus Set For Eurovision Makeover
The University of Liverpool has undergone a Eurovision makeover – with part of its campus temporarily renamed after 1974 winners Abba.
Students have been taking part in a range of events themed around the song contest as the city geared up to host the competition on behalf of Ukraine, with the grand final having been held on May 13.
Abercromby Square, in the red brick university’s city centre campus, has become ABBAcromby Square.

Prospective Students Attending Fewer Open Days Due to Costs – UCAS
Prospective students are attending fewer university open days when researching where to study due to rising living costs, according to the university admissions service.
Nearly two in five (39%) prospective applicants in the UK said they have cut down on the number of open days they attended due to costs, and 5% said they did not attend any because of the expense, a survey has found.
